Get outside and be happy!
Getting outside and into nature can have life-changing benefits. These include:
- Reduced stress levels
- Improved breathing
- Greater relaxation
Far too often, and especially in winter months, we spend all of our time inside. Sometimes, we remain inside for days at a time. This is not good for health.
When was the last time that you spent a decent amount of time outside?
There are a lot of ways to increase your exposure to a more natural environment. Exercising outside is a great place to start and should be something that you are doing anyway. Instead of heading to the gym, why not head out for a bush walk, game of tennis or swim.
Now that the weather is colder, going outside for a walk in the sun is also important for increasing your levels of Vitamin D, which can drop during winter months. Vitamin D is essential for bone and joint health.
If it is good weather, why not plan a picnic or BBQ? Or if you are want a lazy Sunday morning, why not read the paper outside on your deck or at a nearby cafe?
Nature is there to be enjoyed and unless it’s pouring it’s almost guaranteed to lift your mood and make you feel great!
